SETTING: An intimate and stylish, yet unpretentious, restaurant that utilises all four floors of a shop house, Bacchus offers a variety of dining, drinking and lounging experiences.
FOOD: Owner Koji Hara has created a fusion restaurant that blends Western cuisine with touches of Japan. Each dish has elements of creativity in an attempt to blend with the setting. Unique specialities include excellent seared sesame tuna served with a wasabi-yoghurt dip, sublime soft-smoked scallop and jamon Iberic, and grilled yakitori. Those looking for a little more, try belly tuna steak in a delightful miso soysauce.
WINE: As you might imagine from the name, Bacchus has a great selection of competitively priced wines from around the world. Over 200 different wines are on offer and this is a place to drink and relax with a fine bottle of your favourite wine.
SERVICE: One has sympathy for the service staff perpetually running up and down stairs. Nonetheless they are attentive and helpful.
PRICE: Dinner for two without wine comes to about 2,500 baht. |
