SETTING: A very stylish restaurant that serves the upper Sukhumvit area with a touch of Little Italy.
FOOD: Partner/chef Angelo Rottoli goes out of his way to make a meal a real occasion in the classical Italian way. The breads are freshly baked and bring out the best in beef carpaccio with mushrooms and parmesan cheese with tangy lemon dressing, or thinly sliced roasted veal loin with tuna sauce and capers. Share at least one pizza from the wood-fired oven before ordering from an extensive selection of fresh hand-made pastas. Veal saltimbocca with deep-fried artichokes and truffled mashed potatoes tastes as it might from the chef's home town. Australian beef and lamb selections are prepared on a charcoal grill with a variety of mushroom, rosemary and thyme sauces and accompanying vegetables. Desserts are sweet and filling and should be followed by a grappa.
WINE: A large selection with plenty to choose from in both quality and price.
SERVICE: The attentive wait staff is smartly dressed in crisp blue and white.
PRICE: A dinner for two without wine will cost about 2,500 baht. |
