SETTING: Set in a beautiful house, this cafe-like restaurant offers seating in air-conditioned comfort or al fresco in a lush garden.
FOOD: This Italian eatery offers a menu with a range of appetisers, salads, soups, pastas and meat and seafood dishes to choose from. Starters come in two sizes. Begin with traditional caprese salad, a generous serving of buffalo mozzarella, tasty tomatoes and fresh basil. Also delicious is feta cheese salad with bellpeppers, olives and onions tossed in balsamic vinegar. For mains go for any of the home-style pastas, or for something more substantial, such as sea bass with white wine sauce and capers. Fresh mashed potato is a good side to complement this dish. Equally satisfying is breaded veal a la Milanese, thin cutlets topped with chopped tomatoes alongside a salad. A generous portion, spinach with cheese is another delightful side to share. A list of traditional desserts will tempt those with a sweet tooth.
WINE: Mostly Italian, wines are reasonably priced with a few select rarities.
SERVICE: Friendly staff is quick to serve but language difficulties can slow things down.
PRICE: Two can dine well for less than 2,000 baht, without wine. |
