SETTING: A two-storey house with modern Italian decor that offers diners indoor seating or al fresco on the patio.
FOOD: A king's feast of sumptuous steak, seafood, barbecue and pizza prepared by chef Watchara Kingko, Biscotti's former cook. Lobster bisque is a warm and soothing treat, but pales in comparison to seafood salad, a delicious manifestation of mantis prawn, baby octopus, mussel and scallop in a zesty lemon dressing subdued by artichokes and the sweet tang of mayonnaise and raisins. For meat lovers, Australian striploin served juicy and tender topped with eggplant polenta is a must-try. Black angel hair and salmon tossed in olive oil also proves a flavourful and satisfying combination. Dessert includes tiramisu and panna cotta, although the most refreshing is lemon sherbet. Contrazi's royal Thai cuisine is just as extensive, and up to the same standards, and is served on the second-floor Thai-style room.
WINE: Reasonable choice of champagnes, white and red wines from Old and New Worlds.
SERVICE: Well-trained staff with a thorough knowledge of the menu.
PRICE: A four-course meal for two without wine easily tops 2,500 baht. |
