SETTING: Bright and airy with a fun atmosphere, the dining area combines the colourful and slightly outrageous.
FOOD: The cold appetisers plate for two is clearly enough for four and brims with excellent light choices: parma ham, smoked salmon, Italian sausage, creamed eggplant, sun-dried tomatoes, deep-fried calamari, mushrooms, fresh bread, and more. Salads are all worth a try. Caesar is served with romano lettuce, fresh croutons and bacon, not to mention the rare choice of salted anchovy paste. All pastas and risottos are cooked al dente, which is the way it should be. Getting beyond the excellent pasta selections, there is also a tremendous seafood menu. Grilled salmon is prepared with the skin off yet remains juicy and succulent. For the very hungry there are some great choices from the meat menu. T-bone steaks are imported from Australia and are big.
WINE: Comprehensive list centring more on Italian reds.
SERVICE: Staff is well trained, quick to laugh and everywhere.
PRICE: Pricey, but worth it. Dinner for two can exceed 2,000 baht, minus wine. |
