SETTING: Modern decor accented by glass-topped white tables, plus black and white seats, amid dark wooden flourishes and a red, plastic wall.

FOOD: Some good eats hidden among some not-so-great choices. Mixt roti is a pile of flat bread pieces livened by a bowl of very good coconut-curry paste which also goes well with other dishes, so try to include this choice no matter what else you desire. Mixt chicken with rice has slices of grilled chicken along with a big pile of white rice. Spaghetti fried black pepper with crab is very peppery, and offers sliced bellpeppers and onions supporting a steaming soft crab. Prawn spring rolls is similar to bread sticks, but made from a fried shrimp base. Other noodle, rice, soup and curry dishes are of varying consistency.

WINE: Only six choices and staff may bring only a glass even if you order a bottle.

SERVICE: Inexperienced staff may have difficulty with orders.

PRICE: Two people can eat for 1,000 baht without wine.
