SETTING: Wooden tables, each with a candle, plus nice red sofas and chairs, make this a soothing, relaxing, no-nonsense restaurant.
FOOD: Good food is available here which can be enjoyed by Thais and foreigners alike. Som tam moo krob is a traditional spicy papaya salad with pork crackling, making it an easy starter. Even better is the well-crafted mieng pla chorn, which has bite-sized pieces of fried fish, red onion, peanuts and lime in a sweet sauce, a nice and piquant choice. Poh pia sod is spring rolls, which are steamed and deliciously packed with minced pork and vegetables, kissed by a well-placed dollop of mustard to lend some zing. Pad thai tofu is a large, tasty platter of cauliflower, carrots, baby corn, mushrooms and cubed tofu. Salads and appetisers are especially well represented, allowing for some fantastic experiences which are light, cool and delightful to eat.
WINE: A brief list groups a handful of basic whites and reds together.
SERVICE: Very fast and efficient service provides instant gratification to hungry patrons.
PRICE: For less than 1,500 baht, two can savour traditional Thai fare, minus wine. |
