SETTING: An open-air sala with folding French-style doors, the furniture is white moulded chairs with acrylic-topped tables alternated by square white tables with lower seating for a comfortable, relaxed feel.
FOOD: Styled as Thai fusion seafood, the chef takes classic dishes and presents them in a contemporary style for the global customer. Tom yum kung is light, clear and fresh and served with decent-sized tiger prawns, while tom kha gai is a generous-sized portion with an authentic but not overpowering taste. A must-try is stir-fried softshell crab with green peppercorns and capsicum. Also recommended is red snapper with sweet and sour vegetables, a whole fish that is convienently de-boned. Desserts are all local. The food is excellent quality, properly cooked and well presented yet comfortably served without any fuss or pretention.
WINE: A good selection of New and Old World wines.
SERVICE: Casually dressed staff is efficient and professional.
PRICE: A meal for two costs about 1,500 baht without wine. |
