SETTING: The Bay is set out on Dusit Point, curling around the swimming pools and looking out over the curve of Pattaya Bay.
FOOD: The Bay received an extensive venue revamp and now with new chef Giuseppe Zanotti, has received a similar revamp in the kitchen. Giuseppe is the epitome of the passionate Italian and has cooked for Madonna and Russian premier Putin in Paris. His pasta dish (tagliolini black ink pasta with broccoli, white asparagus, sea scallops and white wine clam sauce) won the first prize at the recent International Food and Hospitality show awards in Bangkok. It must be tried to experience the melange of flavours. The chef's artisitic influence is obvious in tuna tartar that comes heart-shaped, with chopped red, green and yellow bellpeppers, zucchini and saffron sauce. Pear sherbet comes in a scooped-out pear, and retains the original texture, yet cleanses the palate. Altogether a refreshing, light approach to the cuisine.
WINE: The new cellar holds about 300 labels, including the Dusit's own label.
SERVICE: Attentive and knowledgeable service staff.
PRICE: A superb meal, without wines, can be had for less than 2,000 baht for two. |
