FOOD: The inventive dishes may change from time to time, although chef Wicha Cavaliero does say that some are popular mainstays. Start with homemade country pate with crusty bread or try roasted pumpkin and orange soup, both of which are hearty and tasty. Some of the main dishes include surprising choices such as baked ostrich or slow-cooked buffalo fillet with porcini mushrooms. Petit fillet with Japanese brown cap mushroom sauce and baked salmon fillet with herb crust, capers and saffron dressing are other tantalising offerings. Accompanying side dishes include roast potatoes, potato wedges and a selection of vegetables. The dessert menu offers a choice of homemade items such as devil's chocolate cake with hot sauce and ice cream and chocolate cheese cake. Most of the ingredients used here are organically grown by local hill-tribe farmers. |
