FOOD: The menu is Italian as its name suggests, although in keeping ith a tropical climate, less filling seafood items have been introduced. try light-as-a-feather frittura di calamari or equally impressive carpaccio di manzo, thinly-sliced beef tenderloin with shaved parmesan. Entrees include excellent Phuket lobster tails on a bed of pesto-inspired linguini verde. Cucina's imported steaks are very tender and can be served with gnocchi and shallots in a tangy balsamic sauce. Italian desserts, although often high in calories, are deservedly world famous and Cucina does not disappoint in this department. The cheese platter is equally interesting and each diner's selection is served with a pear compote and fresh herbs. |
