FOOD: Chef Supreeda Khemkhang was previously at the exclusive Amanpuri. A combination of four starters served as a platter, comprising fresh spring rolls, chicken in pandanus leaves, fish cakes and Phuket prawns wrapped in noodles is impressive. Another worthy starter is battered and deep-fried squid. Salads range from banana blossom, tofu and ground-roast coconut salad with tamarind dressing, to golden soft shell crab with pineapple, cucumber and carrots. Silk has a wide selection of curries and massaman beef curry with potatoes and peanuts is a local favourite, as is green chicken curry. All of Silk's beef dishes contain only the best imported New Zealand meat. |
