SETTING
The restaurant is entered through the lobby and occupies a fabulous split-level setting with views of the gardens and swimming pool as
well as the Chao Phraya River. A popular bar adjoins the restaurant and features live music.
FOOD
Angelini is a grand restaurant offering both fine dining and less fussy options. Il mercato del pesce is a selection of shellfish and seafood
fresh from the market presented on ice. Tuna and avocado tartare, and marinated salmon with rocket salad are well presented antipasti which set the tone for a pasta or risotto second course. Slightly heavier first courses but wonderfully tasty are crab cakes with herb aioli and avocado salsa or pan-fried goose liver on toasted brioche. These can be followed by snow fish in prosecco sauce and soft polenta or perhaps Phuket lobster grilled with seasonable vegetables and a choice of sauces. Pizza or focaccia is packed with a variety of
toppings and is excellent to share between courses. The dessert menu offers a great variety of tempting alternatives with iced nougat parfait with crunchy hazelnuts or Angelini warm chocolate souffle – all simply irresistible.
WINES
As with all five-star hotel restaurants an extensive selection of popular and fine wines is included in the extensive list. Italian wines make
up about 50 percent, with a wide range of prices.
SERVICE
Service is professional without being overwhelming or too personal. This is a busy restaurant both lunch and evenings and staff works hard to keep up with requirements.
