SETTING
Chicago is an unobtrusive, intimate room that has an air of quiet elegance with a touch of simple charm. Comfortable chairs and
muted colours add to the feeling of class. Every detail has been carefully thought out, resulting in a seamless setting for a great meal.
FOOD
Following the overall simplicity of the room itself, the menu offers only nine entrees and five steaks along with a short list of soups and salads, appetisers and side dishes. A touch of Asian influence, as in tiger prawns with massamun curry and a few other items, is present
here but in the main this is a traditional US-style steakhouse menu. Big steaks, potatoes, caesar salad, side orders of broccoli with Monterey jack cheese, onion, rings, even creamed spinach – all evoke an earlier time when steak was considered the best thing one could eat. The steaks here are certainly the best in the province. The 12-ounce rib-eye, for example, is perfectly cooked to a medium rare (or to your request) and flavourful with a light hint of herb seasoning. Pan-fried foie gras is another excellent example of the superb quality being offered here.
WINES
Four wines of the month are served by the glass, two reds and two whites and all are excellent and reasonably priced. The list itself has
bottles from all over the world starting at about 1,300 baht and going up quite high.
SERVICE
The staff is knowledgeable and has a knack for being personable yet professional.
PRICE
A full meal for two without wine would be anywhere from 2,500 to 3,500 baht.
