SETTING
JW Marriott’s international high standards are reflected in the impeccable decor and layout of Cucina. It incorporates an outside
terrace with views over the pool as well as an air-conditioned interior.
FOOD
Superb. Traditional Italian cuisine made easy through modern techniques. Every Italian product has been imported to guarantee
maximum authenticity and the vegetables come from the royal project. Appetisers range from mini lasagnas to delicious home-baked bread dipped in olive oil. The pizzas are traditional with choices that range through nine toppings from margherita to frutti di mare. Osso bucco is a speciality of Cucina and rightly so; the traditionally braised veal shank is very tender and is served with vegetables and a red wine
sauce complemented by saffron risotto and grilled zucchini with fresh thyme. Andy Hameder, the German-born chef “with an Italian heart”
takes great pains to make sure each and every dish is as geniune as can be, even using 70-yearold recipes he personally sourced during his years in Italy. Fusion cuisine this most definitely is not.
WINES
A fine wine cellar bursting with an entirely Italian wine list that boasts a house wine at 1,350 baht house wine to a Boroto Lazzarito DOCG 1998 Vietti.
SERVICE
Service is prompt and alert. The staff speaks very good English and the friendliness is pleasant. They may even surprise you with a performance accompanying the Argentine singer.
