Windows facing out into the hotel garden form one wall of this cafe-style room that is softly lit and dominated by a large central open kitchen. Solid, comfortable furniture adds to the casual feeling of elegance.
FOOD
Chef Mario Caramella emphasises using fresh local ingredients so you will not find anything frozen or processed here. The moderate size menu makes the best use of these ingredients, offering pastas and risottos, meat, poultry and seafood. Available here is pizza cooked in a very authentic Italian style producing an extremely thin crust, as well as some genuine Italian-style sandwiches. Appetisers include soups and salads predominating along with quite well done beef carpaccio and bruschetta, wonderful with fresh olive oil drizzled over it. The main dishes offer the same casualness and attention paid to the stylish presentations that manage to keep from being ostentatious. Veal tenderloin with duck liver and deep-fried seafood in olive oil are superb, as is tossed tagliatelle with butter, parmesan, pine nuts, asparagus, parma ham and fresh ricotta. The rest of the pasta dishes are equally inventive as are the pizzas, since you can construct your own from a list of ingredients.
WINES
Wines by the glass are uniformly good and there are eight of them to choose from. The rest of the list is well put together from many countries and fits any budget.

Service is casual yet competent, friendly yet unobtrusive.
