SETTING

The atmosphere here is bright and open, creating a very pleasant dining experience. The shop of modern Thai crafts within the restaurant makes for interesting browsing. Thai massage is available upstairs.

FOOD

The menu here is very extensive with a wide variety to choose from. The appetiser of prawn cakes is very meaty but light at the same time. Thai tuna salad prepared with pla tu (more like mackerel) is a very ample portion with a nice but not overpowering chilli kick. For a selection of appetisers try Gallery Cafe mixed appetizers with chicken wrapped in pandanus leaves, deep-fried spring rolls, pork satay and deep-fried bread with prawn spread; an ideal starter for two. The salads available are varied with a selection ranging from the requisite som tam papaya salad to a spicy squid salad and a very flavourful shredded catfish salad. The curries are equally varied including green curry with either chicken, fish balls or prawn. Soups run the gamut from tom yum kung to a very interesting tamarind sour soup with prawn, mixed vegetables and omelette. For seafood try stir-fried river prawn in tamarind sauce; very delicious. Crab stir-fried with curry powder is excellent and can be prepared with either whole crabs or just the meat. Also an interesting selection of omelettes, with minced crab or pork with basil, among others. For vegetarians there is a wide offering with selections including a vegetarian green or red curry.

WINES

A fair wine list here encompasses bottles from Australia, Chile, California, France and Italy.

SERVICE

Service here is very attentive and food is very promptly served by well-dressed staff.

A meal for two, no wine, is about 1,000 baht.
