SETTING
The sleek design and trendy music make Hu’u an inviting place to stay on after dinner for drinks. The bar is on the ground floor, while the smart restaurant is on the upper level.
FOOD
The eclectic cuisine ranges from Italian, French, English, Japanese, Singaporean and Indonesian to Thai. Appetisers and tapas are
palate pleasing such as garlic marinated chicken wings, cappuccino of green asparagus, and calamari. Another tasty affair is scallop mushroom ravioli with dried shiitake foam. A different way to enjoy foie gras is to have it poached and served on toasted brioche bread with caramelised red onion marmalade. For the main course, miso
marinated butter fish comes with ultra-delicious seaweed risotto. If in the mood for classic Thai then there is chicken fried with basil leaf, and
there are also everyday western favourites such as double bacon cheeseburger and fish and chips. For a healthy meal order organic items including spinach, carrot and tomato fettuccine tossed with
grilled Mediterranean vegetables in dried chilli and garlic sauce. Sweets are wickedly delicious including bread and butter pudding topped with caramelised banana and almond ice cream.
WINES
The wine list is rather extensive, with bottles from new and old worlds. The price ranges from 1,000 baht to 26,500 baht per bottle.
SERVICE
Polite waiters stand around, willing and eager to take orders. If some don’t know their stuff, knowledgeable ones are nearby to help.
PRICE
A meal for two is slightly over 2,000 baht without drinks.
