SETTING
The restaurant recreates the mood of Hong Kong eateries, not unexpected as the chef and co-owner are from there. There is an open kitchen where easy-cooking dishes like noodles are prepared in front of diners, but the main kitchen is hidden from view. There are two levels in the main dining area, with a private room situated on the second floor with its own access for more privacy.
FOOD
Cantonese-style comfort food is available here all day, with a variety of congees which can be served with foot-long chinese doughnuts. Congee is a specialty here as the name implies (“joke” in Thai means congee), but there is an extensive menu of other Chinese dishes as well. Imported scallops from New Zealand is served pan-fried. Vegetable lovers will like fried spinach topped with duck webs, while fried broccoli with fresh scallops plus XO sauce will add spice to the meal. For those looking for a quick one-dish lunch, fried noodles with a variety of toppings such as fish maw, sauteed beef or just plain soysauce, or rice dishes topped with abalone cubes or bean curd offer tasty but different choices. Desserts might be rather limited but during the Moon Cake Festival, the restaurant orders various fillings from Hong Kong. Do not overlook its mango pudding which is good in both texture and taste.
