FOOD

There is the usual enormous menu found in seafood restaurants, in this case both in physical size and number of items (185 in all), with each dish described in Thai, English, German, French and Russian. This restaurant scores well with its attention to hygiene, with an open kitchen for all to see. Those who like to select their fish, lobster and other crustaceans can do this as you walk in. There are 19 appetisers ranging in price from 60 baht to 180 baht with international choices, including sashimi, deep-fried crab legs, Japanese crab-meat rolls and tod mun pla (fish cakes) in addition to the more usual seafood and prawn cocktails and oysters. Pad pak ruam (stir-fried vegetables) is a good addition to a range of straight seafood items. Steamed fish is very popular and sea bass in white wine sauce is well cooked and presented. Steamed calamari with garlic is another interesting item, and king prawns in special curry is done in an Indian-style sauce. Crepes suzette and Irish coffee may not be normal for a seafood restaurant, but a good way to end the meal.

WINES

Large comprehensive selection from both new and old worlds, with most under 1,000 baht. Australian Butterfly Ridge red and South African Lost Horizons chardonnay, both at 980 baht, represent good value.

SERVICE

Brightly clad, enthusiastic service staff, of which there is an abundance. Owner Premrudee Jittivuthikan ensures standards are maintained.
