SETTING
A big house on a large plot of land with nice old trees converted into an elegant restaurant gives one the feeling of dining at a private home. The furniture, table cloths and cutlery all show that this is a fine-dining eatery. It offers the option of al fresco dining on the terrace or garden with seating for 50. Soothing piped music adds to the ambience.
FOOD
Experience the delights of French cuisine prepared by chef Charles who has wide experience from working in hotels and holiday chateaus in Belgium, France, Italy and London. Simple two-page menu in English covers soups, cold and hot starters and pastas to mains which include meat, poultry and fish, with the country of origin of meats shown in brackets. Ingredients are mostly imported. The meal starts with a complimentary appetiser of carpaccio of tuna with garden vinaigrette and herbs.The hot appetiser, pan-fried duck foie gras, is served in a delightful presentation including potatoes and rocket salad, with figs cut in small cubes, chives and shallots. Just as delicious is goat cheese roasted in yoghurt, honey, olive oil and provence herbs on a pumpkin pancake; cheese from France is used. There is also a selection of soups including Spanish gazpacho, red bell pepper soup and traditional fish soup. An appetising main course, rack of lamb served whole, is cooked perfectly, revealing the culinary talent of the chef. Seared tuna in fancy pepper crust is full of flavour. For dessert, strawberries sauteed in butter and caramel, served with a balsamic vinegar reduction and vanilla ice cream is truly memorable.

Small wine selection with a larger choice of reds. Except for a white and red from Australia, all wines are from France.
