SETTING
MaBeBa is as much a visual experience as it is a dining feast. The decor of this voluminous restaurant seems to have been inspired by a host of influences including gothic, art deco, neo modern and a touch of Asia.
FOOD
MaBeBa is under Italian management and the chefs prepare the food with the care and attention of a family-run restaurant back in Italy.
A great way to start the meal is to share degustazione di antipasti dello chef, which gives a full plate of appetisers ample for two. Smoked ham with grilled pears and gorgonzola also gets the palate nicely prepared for the rest of the meal. Pizzas are crispy and packed with lovely fresh ingredients with a large size also great for sharing. An extensive pasta list offers a variety of styles and ingredients and the risotto dishes are all delightfully prepared. Of the fish items baked
snow fish papillotte with mussels, clams and spring vegetables or pan-fried crispy sea bass fillet topped with capers and black olive oil are
highly recommended. Some great desserts such as forest fruit berry crepes served with zabaglione ice cream or warm chocolate cake with yoghurt cherry ice cream are temptingly presented.
WINES
There is an extensive list, with a good selection at all price ranges, mostly from Italy but well complemented with some mid-priced French,
Australian, American and Spanish wines.
SERVICE
Even when the restaurant is full the waiters get on with their jobs in a prompt and efficient, although somewhat impersonal, manner.

Prices are at about 2,800 baht for two.
