SETTING
This is a stylish, modern restaurant in a very stylish hotel. While sleek, it has also managed intimacy and is a great location for small family gatherings, business meetings and romantic evenings.
FOOD
The menu is straightforward and emphasises the quality of the ingredients. Kobe and wagyu beef, Belon oysters, fresh seafood
can all be found here. The star of the show is the grill where impeccably prepared lobster and king prawns, seafood and juicy, tender steaks are among those on offer. The side dishes accompanying the grilled items include rich, creamy garlic mashed potatoes, roasted mushrooms and perfectly steamed asparagus.
Start with roasted foie gras with onion compote, definitely not one to be missed. Tomato and onion salad with crumbled blue cheese is good, but the tomato seems to lack flavour. Desserts are impressive, with lovely key lime pie and warm banana tart with macadamia ice cream standing out. In general, the ingredients, preparation and
presentation are stunning and this is a super place for a special occasion.
WINES
Solid list with a good variety listed by varietal (eg chardonnay, pinot noir) making selecting easy. The prices range from affordable to very expensive.
SERVICE
Smooth, soft and friendly are the words to describe the service, as to be expected in a five-star hotel.
PRICE
Expensive. Dinner for two, without wine, can easily reach 6,000 baht.
