FOOD
Matteo presents Italian dishes with a focus on the Sardinian cuisine of the owner. The menu lists traditional starters, Italian cooked vegetables, soups, pasta, rice, seafood and meat dishes. Start the meal with carpaccio di filetto, thiny sliced raw Australian beef with parmesan cheese and rocket salad in extra virgin olive oil pepper and lemon dressing, or try cozze in guazzetto, New Zealand mussels in spicy tomato pepper sauce. For those into soup, zuppa di cozze allo zafferano, New Zealand mussels in white wine flavoured with paprika and saffron must be tried. Some pasta dishes worth considering are linguine al gamberone e zafferano, or linguine with zucchini and tiger prawns and saffron, and ravioli vodka e salmone, salmon ravioli flambeed with vodka in a creamy sauce, both of which will not disappoint. A signature dish, ossobuco del Matteo is good with tender, flavourful meat on the bone. For desserts, there are various choices including a selection of cheeses with crudite, or torta alla ricotta con gelato, yummy ricotta lemon cake served with vanilla ice cream.
