No. 43 is located in Cape House serviced apartments. It is dominated by wood and surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows, allowing lots of light during the day. The vibe is bright and lively.
FOOD
The menus are huge and extensive, with separate versions for Italian and Thai cuisine. The Italian menu offers an array of appetisers, pastas, seafood, grilled items, meats and pizzas. The Thai menu reads like one from a coffee shop, with some international fare like sandwiches or fish and chips, to cater to the eclectic tastes of the apartment tenants. The specialty here, however, is its Italian cuisine. For lunch, the buffet draws quite a crowd. From the Italian menu, you can’t go wrong with a la carte items like antipasto platter with cold cuts and marinated vegetables. Carpaccio is delicious, tender, thin slices of raw beef sprinkled with cheese. Egg tagliatelle pasta with salmon is scrumptious in wine cream sauce, though perhaps too rich for one to finish the entire dish. Seafood risotto is generous on seafood, also with cheese aplenty. The dessert menu depicts glossy pictures of tempting offerings. Tiramisu cake with mascarpone cream and coffee liqueur trifle should satisfy any sweet tooth, or try vanilla ice cream float in espresso coffee for something less sweet.

Adequate list of wines at moderate prices. A few bottles from Thailand, Italy, France, Australia and South Africa.
SERVICE
Helpful staff dressed in black-and-white uniforms offers efficient service. Attentive and able to make recommendations.
PRICE
A bill of about 1,300 baht for a hearty Italian meal for two without wine is very affordable.
