SETTING
Located on the ground floor of a building with the Thai-Indian Chamber of Commerce as a neighbour and with ample parking space. Posters of Bollywood stars adorn the walls of this large cafe-style bistro with bright orange and blue lighting. A separate bar area with sofas in front of a giant TV screen playing the latest Indian hits give an ultra modern feel to this authentic Bombay diner.
FOOD
The restaurant features two chefs flown in from India who create very tasty traditional Indian fare with, for some reason, a few Chinesestyle
noodle dishes thrown in for good measure. Tandoori fish, prawn and lamb dishes are expertly cooked to perfection and should be enjoyed with crispy baked naan either with or without garlic. Add a curry or two together with a plain or pilau rice and do not forget excellent creamy spinach with cottage cheese that absolutely melts in the mouth. Finish with a traditional Indian dessert such as gulab jamun or pistachio kulfi ice cream and the overall experience is a satisfying, bellyfilling meal.
WINES
There is an interesting selection of Romanian wines that are relatively cheap, in addition to a few bottles from Australia, Chile and South Africa.
SERVICE
Enthusiastic and willing to please. But if the restaurant is full one wonders if the kitchen can cope with the number of tables set out.
PRICE
Very good value for money given how tasty the food is. A dinner for two without wine comes to about 1,000 baht.
