SETTING

Located on the ground floor of CRC tower in the upscale All Seasons Place, this branch of Pomodoro draws a mix of white-collar workers, residents and visitors. An elegant yet casual venue for a business lunch or dinner with friends.

FOOD

This is one of the early Italian restaurants which now has several branches in town. Rocket lobster salad is served in a generous portion; the contrasting green of the salad leaves and cherry tomatoes make an excellent presentation and it tastes fresh and wonderful, with its chunks of lobster. For a traditional starter, try caprese salad, a tasty mix of tomatoes and mozzarella cheese with olive oil, fresh basil and balsamic vinegar. Soup selections include minestrone, creamy mushroom soup and a spicy Sardinian-style prawn soup. For mains there is a choice of pastas and meats from the grill. Rack of lamb grilled with garlic and rosemary is tender and flavourful. For pasta lovers, spaghetti al gamberi, or spaghetti with prawns sauteed in a spicy tomato sauce, is highly recommended. Of the tempting desserts, try something different. Pomodoro’s version of ice cream “drowned” in whisky is exotic while zabaione, a traditional Italian dessert of spun sugar with eggs and sweet marsala wine, is simply divine.

WINES

A decent wine list, predominantly Italian but with some new world wines. Prices are moderate.

SERVICE

Staff is helpful with suggestions and service is attentive and friendly.

PRICE

Without wine, two can enjoy a satisfying meal for under 2,000 baht.
