SETTING
Casual beachside setting under a canopy of trees at Spa Samui Resorts. A beautiful view of Thai fishing boats from seating at rustic
teak tables and chairs.
FOOD
The emphasis is on healthy and fresh. Owners Toi and Guy Hopkins collaborated on the menu, and with 120 selections, the restaurant
offers something delicious for vegans, vegetarians and seafood diners. Choose from Thai spicy, western-style or healthy dishes, often in small or large portions, although the small is American size. Greek salad comes festooned with shredded beet, onion, black olives and other veg on crispy greens with a generous topping of feta and a side
of creamy vinaigrette dressing. Seaweed soup combines a medley of veggies with the zest of garlic and seaweed. Mexican treats include
haevos rancheros, with refried beans, mozzarella cheese, tortillas and light salsa. From 6pm, choose from oysters, mussels, jumbo prawns,
salmon, whole fish or mushroom caps grilled in butter, garlic and basil, or a teriyaki/honey/garlic sauce. Round off the meal with seasonal fruits or Italian gelateria ice creams.
WINES
Limited selection of international wines. Best to opt for fresh juices and smoothies, herbal teas, or an ice-cold beer.
SERVICE
Long-term loyal staff is courteous and knowledgeable about the fare. Occasionally, slower service at peak hours.
PRICE
Two vegetarian starters and two mains cost about 400 baht; adding seafood mains puts the price at about 800 baht.
