SETTING
A large restaurant with a sedate spaciousness, softened by Chinese decor and comfortable seating. Ideal for chit-chat among a group of friends or an incognito rendezvous.
FOOD
An extensive menu of mainly Cantonese dishes. Begin with Japanese seaweed salad for a cold, delicious and chewy treat which presents
crunchy green strings of seaweed with sesame seeds and sesame oil, plus some chilli. Stir-fried crispy squid with Hong Kong sauce is equally
surprising and evocative of sweet and sour pork because these are big breaded chunks lavished with a tasty sauce. Spinach with garlic tries to liven the greens with thin slivers of garlic. Fried bean curd with chicken and five kinds of fruit creates a bowl of fruit, nuts and vegetables with tofu in a sweet pile, mixed with chunks of breaded chicken. Steamed snow fish with fresh garlic presents fish in a brown broth. For dessert try white jelly with fruit salad which is refreshing, cold and really great. Chinese dumpling in hot ginger syrup is another
traditional dessert.
WINES
About 25 reds and 20 whites are mostly from France and Italy, but Australia, Chile and California also appear. Bardolino is great with
these dishes.
SERVICE
Multiple visits by staff, who are inquisitive and willing to pamper diners, enables friendly service and a smooth meal.
PRICE
About 2,500 baht will fill two people with diverse dishes, without wine.
